Okay guys, this has been an issue for ages, the PWF build makes shitty STHS players unless you want to be a hitter and only a hitter, so I'm going to suggest a solution.

Here are the current Strength and weakness choices for PWF:
CODE
Strengths: Checking, Strength, Attribute of Your Choice
Weakness: One of Passing/Scoring/Skating/Puck Handling

Basically you are forced to take two mediocre strengths. You don't need 99 CK in STHS, ever, all it does it make you take a crap ton of penalties, and we all know strength is more helpful for centers than wingers, but the majority of PWF are wingers, so why back them into a corner and force them to take both?

While I'd love wholesale changes to the entire template, I don't think that would ever happen, because people would argue and argue until they are blue in the face and nothing would happen. So here is what I suggest:

CODE
Strengths: Checking/Strength, Attribute of Your Choice, Attribute of Your Choice
Weakness: One of Passing/Scoring/Skating/Puck Handling

The offensive forward template already has 2 "attribute of your choice" options for Strengths, so why not allow it here too, and force them to take either Checking or Strength rather than both.

The nice thing about this change is that all of the existing PWF builds wouldn't technically have to be changed, they all still fit this template.

Makes way too much sense. HO would never do it.

For real though, I can’t imagine many people choosing PWF as is and this would diversify builds more.

It's decent as a center, and it's better than taking checking. 90 checking in this league is basically as good as 99.

The top two hitters this season were forwards running 78 and 70 checking.

tbh sometimes 75 is better than 99 if you aren't courting PIMs

they also played over 27 minutes a game each. not diminishing what you're saying, but it's easy to lead in hitting when you play 7+ minutes more than checkers.

No, because why would they go the PWF build? If they want strength as a strength they'd pick a different build. Only checking rlly factors into hitting. Only goons would probably take strength and checking.
